Right-Angle Figure-8 Power Lead 3m | AU 2-Pin Mains to IEC C7

A 3.0 metre figure-8 mains lead that is right-angled at both ends — the Australian wall plug turns flat against the socket, and the figure-8 (IEC C7) connector turns flat against the appliance. Where a straight lead forces the cable to stick out and bend, this one lets it run flush and disappear.

What it is for

The reason a right-angled figure-8 lead exists is clearance. If a television is on a wall bracket, a straight plug and a straight connector are usually the two things stopping it sitting flat. The same problem shows up behind furniture, in a cabinet, or anywhere the appliance is pushed hard against a wall. Both ends turning through 90 degrees can recover several centimetres at each end.

It suits any device that takes a two-pin figure-8 inlet — wall-mounted and desktop televisions, PlayStation 4 Slim and PlayStation 5 Slim, Xbox Series S, printers, monitors, soundbars, radios, DVD and Blu-ray players, cameras and battery chargers.

Why the 3 metre

Three metres is the rung to take when the outlet is not where the appliance is — a socket behind a sideboard, a power board on the far side of a desk, a bracketed television whose only free outlet is around the corner. The right angle matters more at this length, not less: because both ends sit flat, a long run can be tucked along a skirting board or through a cable tray without a bend at either end fighting it.

Check the connector before you order

A figure-8 connector has two round holes side by side, in a shape like the numeral 8. It is not earthed and has no third pin. If the socket on your appliance has three holes arranged in a triangle, that is a different connector and this lead will not fit it. Comparing the socket on your device against the photographs takes a moment and saves a return.

This lead replaces the two-pin figure-8 cord supplied with the appliance. It is a mains lead, not an adaptor, an extension or a converter.
