Product Overview

This 1.8 metre USB charging cable plugs into any USB-A port on your PS4 console (or a USB wall charger, PC or laptop) and connects to the Micro-USB port on the bottom of your DualShock 4 controller. It supports simultaneous charging and gameplay, so you can keep playing while the controller tops up — no need to stop and wait for a recharge.

It is fully wired across all pins, so it works as a data cable as well as a charge lead — controller pairing and updates over USB, and phone or tablet file transfer, all work. A ferrite bead at the USB end filters electrical noise, and moulded strain-relief plugs at both ends protect the cable where charge leads usually fail. The jacket is slightly thicker and heavier-duty than a standard controller lead.

The cable works with every PS4 console — the original PS4, PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro — and with every revision of the DualShock 4 controller. It also fits Xbox One controllers (original, One S, One X and the first-generation Elite), the PS Vita Slim (PCH-2000) and any other device with a standard Micro-USB port.

At 1.8 metres (180 cm) the cable gives you comfortable reach from the console to the couch without excess slack getting in the way.

Please note: this is a Micro-USB cable. It is not compatible with the PS5 DualSense controller or the Xbox Series X|S and Elite Series 2 controllers, which use USB-C, nor with the PS3 DualShock 3, which uses Mini-USB.

A PS3 DualShock 3 controller uses Mini-USB — for that you need the PS3 Mini-USB charging cable (also available in 3 metres). It is not compatible with PS5 DualSense or Xbox Series X/S controllers, which use USB-C.
