Short Figure-8 Power Lead 0.5 m — Australian Mains Plug to IEC C7
Quick Specs & Highlights
- 0.5 metres — deliberately short. A standard 1.8 m lead leaves well over a metre of slack to hide. This one is cut to the length the job actually needs.
- Built for power boards and tight spaces. On a power board a full-length lead wastes the room between outlets; behind a wall-mounted TV, inside a cabinet or in a rack, the excess is what stops the unit sitting back.
- IEC 60320 C7 figure-8 socket — the two-pin connector found on wall-mounted and desktop TVs, PlayStation 4 Slim and PlayStation 5 Slim, Xbox Series S, printers, monitors, soundbars, radios, DVD and Blu-ray players, cameras and battery chargers.
- Genuine Australian two-pin flat mains plug, moulded directly onto the cable in a low-profile round body. Not a US, UK or European plug, and not a travel adaptor fitted to the end of a cord.
- 0.75 mm² two-core, double insulated, rated 250 V, black. Two-core unearthed, which is what a figure-8 appliance expects.
- Full-size conductor, not a thin travel cable. The 0.75 mm² core is the same gauge used in our standard-length leads — short here means shorter, not lighter.
Product Overview
A 0.5 metre figure-8 mains lead: an Australian two-pin wall plug at one end, an IEC C7 figure-8 socket at the other. It does exactly what a standard figure-8 lead does, in a fraction of the length.
Length is the whole point of this lead. The common figure-8 cord is 1.8 m, and most of the time most of that is slack — coiled behind a cabinet, cable-tied into a bundle, or wedged into the gap that stops a television sitting flat on its bracket. On a power board a long lead is worse than untidy: the loop takes up the room the next plug needs. At 0.5 m the cable runs from the outlet to the appliance and stops.
Check the connector on your appliance before you order. A figure-8 socket has two round holes side by side, in a shape like the numeral 8. If yours has three holes in a clover or triangle pattern it is a C5 cloverleaf and this lead will not fit. If it has three holes in a squared-off D shape it is a C13 kettle socket, which is different again. The two-hole figure-8 is the one this lead mates with.
What it is not: it is not an extension lead, and it does not convert anything. It replaces a figure-8 power lead with a shorter one of the same type — useful when the original is missing, damaged, or simply longer than the space allows.
