A one-piece adaptor that turns a single 3.5mm headphone socket into two. Push it into the headphone or aux output on a phone, tablet, laptop, TV or games console and two people can plug in and listen to the same thing at once. It is the simplest way to share a film on a flight, a lesson in a classroom or a playlist on a long drive.
Because this is a rigid moulded adaptor rather than a cable, there is nothing to tangle or wear out at a flex point and it adds almost no length. The plug is a 3-pole TRS type with nickel-plated contacts and the body is a single moulded piece, so it holds its grip over repeated use.
It is passive and unamplified, which is worth understanding before you order. Both sockets carry exactly the same stereo signal, because they are joined inside the moulding. That is precisely what you want for sharing audio with a second listener, but it does not separate a left channel from a right channel and it will not turn mono into stereo. Driving two sets of headphones from one output also splits the available power, so on a low-powered source you may need to turn the volume up a little further than usual.

It is not a headset splitter and it will not pass a microphone signal, so it is not the part for splitting a gaming or PC headset into separate microphone and headphone plugs — that is a different 4-pole part.
