Set the IN/OUT switch
- IN — RCA/S-Video to SCART: send a signal into a compatible SCART television, recorder or other SCART equipment.
- OUT — SCART to RCA/S-Video: take a supported signal out of a SCART player, recorder or receiver to compatible AV equipment.
Choose the matching video connection
Use the yellow RCA socket for composite video, or the 4-pin S-Video socket for S-Video. S-Video works only when the SCART device supports S-Video on that port in the selected direction; select the correct mode in its settings if required. A matching plug alone does not guarantee signal compatibility.
S-Video carries picture only. Connect the red and white RCA sockets separately for right and left audio. These are line-level audio connections for suitable AV equipment, not amplified outputs for passive speakers.
Check your equipment manual, set the switch for the intended direction, connect the matching leads and select the corresponding input on your equipment. Do not force a connector.
