Product Overview
This is a stereo audio interconnect with two RCA plugs on each end. It carries a left and right audio pair between two pieces of equipment – a CD or DVD player into an amplifier, an amplifier into a receiver, a turntable phono stage into an input, a set of powered speakers, or a subwoofer feed.
Length: the lead measures 3 metres – 300 cm, which is enough to run along the back of a cabinet or across to a separate stand rather than forcing the two units to sit side by side. The cable is shielded, which is what keeps mains hum and nearby interference out of a low-level audio signal over that sort of distance.
Plug colours: the plugs are red and black. Red is the conventional right channel and black the left. Some equipment and some cables use red and white instead – the wiring is identical, only the collar colour differs, so a red/black lead works exactly the same into red/white sockets.
Please check the ends you need. This lead has plugs on both ends. It is not an extension – it will not make an existing RCA lead longer, because there is no socket to plug that lead into. It is also not a 3.5mm adaptor: there is no headphone-style jack on either end, and it carries audio only, with no video.
