An RCA Y splitter that takes a single RCA output and sends the same signal to two destinations. Plug the male end into the source — an amplifier pre-out, a TV audio out, a DVD or CD player, a turntable phono stage — and you have two RCA sockets ready to run leads from straight away.

Because this is a rigid moulded adaptor rather than a cable, there is nothing to tangle or wear out at a flex point, and it adds no cable length. It sits directly on the socket, which makes it a tidy choice behind an equipment rack or a wall-mounted TV where space is tight. The contacts are nickel-plated and the body is a single moulded piece, so it holds its grip on the socket over repeated use.

The adaptor is passive and unamplified, so it handles stereo audio, subwoofer LFE, composite video and digital coaxial equally well. One point worth knowing: splitting a single output to two inputs shares the signal rather than duplicating it. At normal line level into ordinary hi-fi inputs this is not audible, but a very long run into two low-impedance inputs may sound slightly quieter than a direct connection.

Please check the gender before ordering. This adaptor is 1 x male plug to 2 x female sockets. If you need the opposite — two male plugs feeding one female socket — or a socket-to-socket coupler, this is not the right part.
