Product Overview
A gold-plated RCA coupler for joining two RCA leads end to end. When the lead you already own will not quite reach — a subwoofer moved to the other side of the room, an amplifier relocated into a cabinet, a reversing camera run that falls half a metre short — this joins a second lead onto the first instead of making you buy one long replacement.
Both ends are standard RCA sockets, so an ordinary RCA plug pushes straight in from either side and the join works right away. The contacts are gold plated, which matters more on a coupler than on most parts: a join adds two extra contact surfaces to the run, and gold does not develop the oxide film that dulls a bare metal contact over time. The barrel is ribbed so you can get a proper grip on it when you are working blind behind a unit.
It is a completely passive part — there is no power and nothing to configure. Whatever the lead carries passes through unchanged, so it is equally at home on an analogue audio channel, on a mono subwoofer feed, on a composite video run or on the coaxial output of a CCTV camera.
Please check what you need before ordering. This is a single-channel coupler with a female socket at both ends. A stereo pair carries two channels, so a stereo join needs two of these. It is not a Y-splitter and will not turn one signal into two, it has no male plug on either end, and it will not adapt RCA to 3.5mm, to HDMI or to optical — those are all different parts.
