Product Overview
Australia uses two coax connectors for TV aerial and satellite work: the threaded F-type connector, found on set-top boxes, satellite gear, splitters and many wall plates, and the push-fit PAL (Belling-Lee) connector found on televisions and ordinary aerial leads. Whether you need a plug or a socket on each side depends on what you are joining, which is why this kit includes one of each of the four combinations.
What is in the kit
- F plug to PAL plug – male to male. Joins an F socket to a PAL socket.
- F socket to PAL socket – female to female. Joins an F-plug cable to a PAL-plug cable.
- F plug to PAL socket – screws onto an F socket and takes a PAL-plug aerial lead.
- PAL plug to F socket – pushes into a PAL socket and takes an F-plug cable.
A plug has a centre pin and a socket accepts the pin. The F plug has a hex nut with the thread on the inside; the F socket has the thread on the outside. The PAL plug has a pin inside a smooth barrel; the PAL socket is an open sleeve with a hollow receptacle.
Our supplier does not state an impedance or frequency rating, so we do not print one. For ordinary TV aerial, set-top box and satellite connections these adaptors are the right tool.
