Product Overview

Reconnect your console to a composite-equipped TV. This 1.8m replacement cable carries picture and stereo sound from a compatible Nintendo Wii, Wii U or Wii mini to your television. The grey console connector plugs into AV Multi Out; the three colour-coded RCA plugs connect to the TV.

Three plugs, picture and sound. Match yellow to composite Video In, white to Audio L and red to Audio R. Then select the AV or Video input on your television. Switch off equipment before connecting and fully seat each plug without forcing it.

Check your TV input before ordering. Your TV needs composite video and analogue audio inputs. Some TVs share a green socket labelled Y/VIDEO with composite input; consult the TV manual and select composite mode. A TV-specific AV breakout lead may be needed on televisions with a mini-jack AV socket. A plain green component-only input is not sufficient.

Know which cable you need. Compatible with Nintendo Wii (RVL-001), Wii Family Edition (RVL-101), Wii mini (RVL-201) and Wii U. Not compatible with Nintendo 64, SNES or GameCube, which use a different connector. This is the three-plug composite cable, not the five-plug component cable.

HDMI-only display? A separate compatible converter is required. This cable is passive and does not convert analogue video to HDMI, improve resolution or convert PAL/NTSC video standards; the TV must support the console signal.

In the package: one 1.8m grey composite AV cable. This is an aftermarket replacement, not an original Nintendo-manufactured cable.

Not sure this is the right AV cable? This composite cable fits the Nintendo Wii, Wii U and Wii Mini — a direct replacement for the original RVL-009 lead, using the Wii's own AV multi-out connector. It does not fit the N64, SNES or GameCube, which use the older Nintendo Multi-Out port — those take the N64 / SNES / GameCube AV cable. Also for the Wii family: the sensor bar and its 3m extension.
