Product Overview
A practical upgrade for a component-equipped television. Connect your Nintendo Wii or Nintendo Wii U to the TV's YPbPr component inputs and stereo audio inputs. The 1.8 m lead carries video and sound together, with no separate power supply required.
Substantial construction you can see. A woven sleeve covers the grey PVC jacket. The moulded console connector and breakout have strain relief, while each RCA plug has a colour-coded rubber grip ring. Gold-plated contacts are provided at both the TV and console ends.
Five plugs, two jobs. Connect green to Y, blue to Pb and the video red to Pr. Connect white to left audio and the remaining red to right audio. There are two red plugs, so identify the audio pair and video group before connecting them. Select the matching component input on the TV.
Setting up Nintendo Wii progressive scan. With the component cable connected, open Wii Settings → Screen → TV Resolution and select EDTV/HDTV (480p), provided your TV supports it. If the option is unavailable, check that the console-end connector is fully seated. Game, region and display compatibility affect available modes. This cable does not upscale the picture.
Check compatibility before ordering. Compatible with Nintendo Wii and Nintendo Wii U. Not compatible with Nintendo Wii mini, which does not output component video. The TV needs YPbPr component inputs plus stereo audio inputs; a yellow composite socket alone or an HDMI-only input is not sufficient.
