Product Overview
A short adaptor lead that gives any RCA output a 3.5mm stereo socket. Push the two RCA plugs into the red and white line-out sockets on an amplifier, receiver, TV, DVD player, hi-fi or mixer, and you have a standard 3.5mm socket ready for an aux lead, a pair of headphones or a portable speaker.
Because the lead is only 10cm long it hangs neatly off the back of a unit instead of looping across the floor, and the flexible shielded cable takes the strain off the socket in a way a rigid one-piece adaptor cannot. The two RCA plugs are colour-coded red and white for right and left, and each connector has a moulded strain relief where the cable enters.
Please check which way round you need before ordering. The 3.5mm end of this lead is a socket — a female connector that something else plugs into. If what you actually want is to run out of a phone, laptop or tablet headphone jack and into a pair of RCA sockets, that is the opposite part and you want a 3.5mm plug to RCA adaptor instead.
It is passive and unamplified. The two RCA plugs carry the left and right halves of one stereo signal, so this is not a splitter for feeding two devices and the plugs are not interchangeable. It handles audio only — two RCA plugs are the red and white pair, so it will not carry the yellow composite video signal.
