IEC C13 Y Splitter Power Lead — Australian 3-Pin Plug to Two C13 Sockets, 0.4 m + 2 × 1.6 m
Quick Specs & Highlights
- One wall plug, two IEC C13 sockets. An Australian 3-pin mains plug on the short trunk, splitting at a moulded Y into two separate 1.6 m legs, each ending in a C13 socket
- This lead has a wall plug on it. It reaches a power point on its own — it is not the C14-input splitter that dominates this search, which has an IEC plug at the input end and only extends a power cord you already own
- 1.6 metres per leg — the two devices do not have to sit side by side. Most splitters in this price band give you well under a metre a side and force both appliances into the same corner
- The 0.4 m trunk keeps the Y down near the power point instead of leaving a junction dangling halfway up the desk
- Earthed three-pin plug — two insulated pins and a full earth pin, fully moulded
- Rated 10 A / 250 V, moulded into the connector bodies
- Standard C13 sockets — the ordinary “kettle” socket found on desktop PCs, monitors, printers, projectors, amplifiers, UPS units and most AV gear
- Brand new, and this listing is for one lead
Product Overview
A 2-way IEC C13 splitter lead. One Australian 3-pin mains plug goes into the wall on a short 0.4 m trunk; the lead then divides at a moulded Y into two 1.6 metre legs, each ending in an IEC C13 socket. It runs two appliances from a single power point using a single outlet.
Check this before you order: this lead has a mains plug on it. The most common thing bought by mistake in this category is the other shape — a splitter with an IEC plug at the input end, which does not reach a power point at all and only branches a cord you already have. That part is useful, but it is not this one. This lead goes wall to appliances on its own. The photographs show the plug face and both socket faces.
Why the leg length matters. A splitter is normally bought because two things need to run off one outlet — a PC and its monitor, a monitor and a printer, a mixer and a powered speaker. Most leads in this price band split almost immediately and give each side well under a metre, which means both appliances have to live within arm’s reach of the same spot. This one gives 1.6 m on each leg, so the two can sit at opposite ends of a desk or on separate shelves.
How the length is arranged. The 0.4 m trunk is short on purpose: it keeps the Y junction tucked down at the power point rather than leaving a lump of plastic hanging in the middle of the run. Total reach from the wall to either socket is 2.0 metres.
One circuit, shared. This is a passive lead, not a power board and not a surge protector. Both outlets are fed from the one plug, so the combined draw of the two appliances is what the lead and the wall socket see. It suits the ordinary case — computers, monitors, printers, AV and network gear — rather than two high-draw heating appliances on the one outlet.
What a C13 socket fits. C13 is the standard three-pin “kettle” socket used on the back of desktop PCs, monitors, printers, projectors, amplifiers and UPS units. If the appliance currently uses an ordinary kettle lead, these sockets fit it.
