IEC C14 Right-Angle Extension Lead — 2 Metres, C14 Male to C13 Female, 10 A
Quick Specs & Highlights
- Right-angle IEC C14 male plug on one end, straight IEC C13 female socket on the other — an in-line extension for an IEC power cord you already own
- The C14 plug leaves the body at 90° so the lead turns immediately and runs flat along the surface, instead of standing straight out of the socket
- No wall plug. This is an IEC-to-IEC lead. It plugs into the end of an existing power cord — it does not reach a power point on its own
- Ordinary C13/C14 connectors — the standard kettle-type pair used by PCs, monitors, servers, UPS and PDU outlets
- Rated 10 A / 250 V, three core with earth
- 1.0 mm² conductors
- Black, fully moulded connectors at both ends
- 2 metres long, the general-purpose length for benches, desks and racks
Product Overview
An extension lead for IEC power cords, with the plug end turned through a right angle. One end is an IEC C14 male plug set at 90°; the other is a straight IEC C13 female socket. You plug the C14 end into the socket on the end of a power cord you already have, and the C13 end goes to the appliance — so the run gets longer without replacing the original cord.
Read this part before ordering: there is no wall plug on this lead. Both ends are IEC connectors. It cannot reach a power point by itself and it is not a replacement mains cord. It is the piece you add in between an existing cord and the appliance when the cord you have is simply too short. If what you need is a complete lead running from an Australian power point to a C13 socket, that is a different product and this is not it — the photographs show both ends clearly.
What the right angle is for. A straight IEC plug stands out of its socket and needs clear space behind it before the cable can even begin to bend. This one turns at the connector itself, so the cable leaves along the surface rather than away from it. That is the difference between a lead that fits behind a wall-mounted screen, a rack rail or a cabinet back panel and one that holds the whole appliance off the wall. It also takes the strain off the cable where a tight bend would otherwise sit.
Which end is angled. The C14 male plug is the angled end. The C13 female socket is straight. That matters when you are choosing: the angle helps at the end that goes into the existing cord or the PDU outlet, and the straight socket accepts the appliance's own inlet normally.
Where it gets used. Behind desktop PCs, monitors and wall-mounted displays where the wall is close; in racks as a jumper between a PDU or UPS outlet and a device; and behind AV gear, amplifiers and consoles whose own cord will not quite reach or will not sit flat.
This listing is for one 2 metre lead. Two metres is the usual choice: enough added reach to be worth having, without a long coil left over behind the bench.
The C14 end fits any C13 socket — that is the socket on the end of a standard kettle-type power cord, and the outlet on most PDUs and UPS units. The C13 end fits any C14 inlet, which is the three-pin inlet on a PC, monitor, server, switch or amplifier.
