Product Overview
This composite AV cable connects your Sega Mega Drive 2 or 3 (Genesis 2 or 3) to any TV or monitor with standard RCA inputs. The 9-pin mini-DIN connector plugs into the AV port on the back of your console, while the other end splits into three colour-coded RCA connectors — yellow for composite video, and red and white for stereo audio. At 1.8 metres long, the cable provides ample reach from your console to your TV with no adaptors or converters required.
The Mega Drive 2 introduced stereo audio output directly through its AV port, unlike the original Mega Drive which required a headphone connection for stereo sound. This cable delivers both left and right audio channels to your TV straight away. It also works with the Sega 32X and Sega Nomad, which share the same 9-pin mini-DIN AV port.
Compatibility Note: This cable is designed for the Sega Mega Drive 2 and 3 (Genesis 2 and 3) only. It is not compatible with the original Mega Drive 1 or Genesis 1, which use a different, larger DIN connector.
