Stereo Audio Cable 5 metres – 2x RCA Plugs to 2x RCA Plugs, Shielded
This is a stereo audio interconnect with two RCA plugs on each end. It carries a left and right audio pair between two pieces of equipment – a CD or DVD player into an amplifier, an amplifier into a receiver, a turntable phono stage into an input, a set of powered speakers, or a subwoofer feed.
Key product details
- Twin RCA stereo audio lead – RCA plugs on both ends, male to male
- 5 metres (500 cm) of reach – the source can sit across the room from the amplifier, not beside it
- Shielded cable to keep hum and interference out of the signal
- Colour-coded red and black plugs for left and right
- For an amplifier, receiver, CD or DVD player, turntable phono stage, powered speakers or a subwoofer
- Brand-new replacement for a lost, damaged or too-short lead
About this item
Length: the lead measures 5 metres – 500 cm, which is enough to cross a room: a turntable or CD player on one side and the amplifier on the other, a subwoofer in a far corner, or a run tucked along the skirting board and back up behind a cabinet. The cable is shielded, which matters more the longer the run gets: it is what keeps mains hum and nearby interference out of a low-level audio signal over five metres.
Plug colours: the plugs are red and black. Red is the conventional right channel and black the left. Some equipment and some cables use red and white instead – the wiring is identical, only the collar colour differs, so a red/black lead works exactly the same into red/white sockets.
Please check the ends you need. This lead has plugs on both ends. It is not an extension – it will not make an existing RCA lead longer, because there is no socket to plug that lead into. It is also not a 3.5mm adaptor: there is no headphone-style jack on either end, and it carries audio only, with no video.
Not sure this is the right lead? This is a stereo RCA cable, plugs at both ends, 5m — for a run right across a room, a turntable on the far side, or a subwoofer in a corner. If five metres is more than you need, we list the same lead in 3m and 1.2m. If one end needs to be a socket because you are lengthening an existing lead, that is the RCA extension. For a single channel such as a subwoofer feed, use the single RCA cable. To come from a 3.5mm headphone output instead, see the 3.5mm to 2x RCA cable.
