0.5m Short IEC C13 Power Lead — Australian 10A Mains Plug, Black
Quick Specs & Highlights
- 0.5 metre — short on purpose. A standard lead is 1.8m, and behind a wall-mounted TV, an AV cabinet, a rack shelf or a console that spare metre has to go somewhere. This one does not need coiling, cable-tying or hiding
- Australian 10A / 250V three-pin mains plug on one end, IEC C13 socket on the other — the ordinary "kettle" fitting used by PCs, monitors, printers, amplifiers, receivers and games console power bricks
- Fits Xbox 360 (Fat, Slim and 360E) and Xbox One power bricks, PlayStation 3 Fat and PlayStation 4 Pro, and any PC, monitor, printer or amplifier with the same three-pin C14 inlet
- 1.0mm² multi-strand conductor, fully moulded, SAA approved and RoHS compliant — a genuine Australian-standard lead
- Check the inlet before you order. If the socket on your equipment has a notch or keyway cut into it, it needs the notched C15 lead instead — we sell that one too, and we would rather point you at it than have this arrive and not fit
Product Overview
This is the standard three-pin mains lead almost every piece of mains equipment uses, made deliberately short at 0.5 metres. One end is an Australian 10A 250V plug with the two angled flat pins and the vertical earth pin; the other is an IEC C13 socket — the three-hole "kettle" fitting you already have several of. The cable is black, fully moulded at both ends, 1.0mm² multi-strand, SAA approved and RoHS compliant.
Why a short one is worth buying on purpose. The lead that came with your gear is 1.8 metres, which is right when the wall socket is across the room and wrong almost everywhere else. On a wall-mounted television, in an AV cabinet, in a rack, on a desk with a power board bolted underneath, or behind a console sitting on a shelf, the extra metre and a bit does not disappear — it gets coiled, cable-tied and shoved behind the equipment, where it pushes the gear forward off the shelf and turns the back of a tidy setup into a nest. Half a metre reaches the power board and stops.
What it fits. Anything with the ordinary three-pin C14 inlet: desktop PCs and their monitors, printers, scanners, amplifiers, AV receivers, powered speakers, network gear, UPS units, and the external power bricks used by the Xbox 360 (Fat, Slim and 360E), the Xbox One, the original fat PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4 Pro. We have sold the 1.8 metre version of this exact lead for those consoles for years; this is the same fitting on a shorter cable.
Please check one thing before you order: the notch. There is a second, similar-looking fitting called C15. It looks almost identical but the inlet on the equipment has a small notch or keyway cut into the top of it, and a C13 lead like this one will not go in. Look at the socket on your device: three holes and a plain D-shaped opening means this lead is correct; three holes with a notch cut out means you want the notched C15 lead instead, which we also stock. It takes ten seconds to check and it saves a return.
Rated 10A / 250V. This is an ordinary appliance lead for ordinary appliances, not a heavy-current or high-temperature cable. Use it within its rating and do not press it into service on equipment that came with a heavier lead.
