PS2 Slim Only: This power supply is designed specifically for the PS2 Slim / Slimline (SCPH-7xxxx series). It is not compatible with the original fat PlayStation 2. The Slim is the thin, flat version of the console released from 2004 onwards.

It is not for the original fat PlayStation 2. The fat PS2 has no external brick at all: it takes a mains lead straight into the console, which is the figure-8 power lead.
