Product Overview

This multi-system power cable is ideal if you own more than one classic PlayStation console or need a reliable replacement for an old, damaged or missing lead. It runs directly from an Australian 240V wall outlet to the figure-8 power socket used on compatible Sony PlayStation systems.

On the console end, the lead has a standard IEC-C7 “figure 8” connector. On the wall end, it has an AU 3-pin mains plug designed for Australian and New Zealand power outlets. At approximately 1.8 metres long, it provides enough reach to route neatly through TV cabinets while still allowing you to position your console where it suits you.

The cable features a durable PVC outer jacket, fully moulded plugs and proper strain relief at each end to help resist kinks, bends and wear from regular plugging and unplugging. It’s a simple, plug-and-play way to keep your retro PlayStation hardware powered up and ready to go.

Compatibility

• PlayStation (PS1) original “fat” consoles with built-in figure-8 power socket
• PlayStation 2 (PS2) original “fat” consoles
• PlayStation 2 Slim consoles with model numbers starting SCPH-9 (direct figure-8 power input)
• PlayStation 3 Slim and Super Slim consoles that use a figure-8 mains connector

Not compatible with

• PSone mini consoles that use an external AC adapter
• PS2 Slim consoles with model numbers starting SCPH-7 that require a different style of power supply
• Original “fat” PlayStation 3 consoles that use a 3-pin “kettle” style power cord

If you are unsure, feel free to send us a message.

Not sure this is the right lead? This 1.8m 2-pin figure-8 (IEC C7) lead fits the PS1, PSone, fat PS2, selected PS2 Slim and PS3 Slim / Super Slim. It does not fit the original fat PS3, which takes the larger 3-pin kettle-style cord. Most PS2 Slim consoles use an external power supply rather than a mains lead — if yours does, you need the PS2 Slim power supply. Want the same fitting shorter and cheaper? See the 1.5m slim-plug lead.

Still not sure? Use the Cable Finder — pick your console and it shows you the exact lead that fits.
