6.35mm Stereo Headphone Extension Lead – 8 Metres, 1/4 inch Plug to Socket
Quick Specs & Highlights
- 6.35 mm (1/4 inch) connectors – the large jack, not the small 3.5 mm one
- Stereo TRS – two rings on the plug, so both channels are carried
- Male plug at one end, female socket at the other
- 8 metres (800 cm) of extra reach
- Shielded cable, which matters on a run this long
- Moulded plug and socket with strain relief – fully passive, nothing to set up
Product Overview
This is a 1/4 inch stereo extension. It makes a lead that already ends in a 6.35 mm plug eight metres longer. One end is a male 6.35 mm plug that goes into your amplifier, mixer, keyboard or interface; the other is a female 6.35 mm socket that your headphone lead plugs into.
Eight metres is a working distance rather than a convenience. It is the length that lets you step back from the desk, walk around a live room, or sit across from the piano while still monitoring.
What you can use it for
- Studio or DJ headphones that already terminate in a 1/4 inch plug
- Standing back from a mixer, amplifier, audio interface or keyboard
- A hi-fi receiver or amp whose headphone socket is the large 1/4 inch type
- Digital pianos, guitar amps and PA gear, which almost always use 1/4 inch
Please read before buying
- This is 6.35 mm, not 3.5 mm. It will not fit phone, laptop or earbud headphones without a separate adaptor. If you want the small jack, we list 3.5 mm extensions separately.
- It is a stereo TRS lead. It is not a balanced-line or microphone cable.
- It is not an amplifier. On any long passive run, high-impedance studio headphones will sound quieter than they do plugged straight in.
Within that, it does one job properly: it puts eight metres between you and the socket.
