3.5mm Stereo Extension Lead – 5 Metres, Male Plug to Female Socket

Quick Specs & Highlights

  • Male 3.5 mm plug at one end, female 3.5 mm socket at the other
  • 5 metres (500 cm) – enough to cross a room, not just close a gap
  • Shielded cable, which matters more on a run this long
  • Moulded plug and socket with strain relief
  • Extends headphones, earbuds, an aux lead or powered speakers
  • Fully passive – no power, no batteries, nothing to set up

Product Overview

This is an extension: it makes a 3.5 mm lead you already own 5 metres longer. One end is a normal male plug that goes into your device; the other is a female socket that your existing headphone or aux cable plugs into.

Five metres is a different proposition to a short extension. This is the length you buy when the seat and the socket are on opposite sides of the room – when the problem is measured in metres rather than centimetres.

What you can use it for

  • Headphones from the television all the way back to the sofa or an armchair
  • An existing aux lead that falls well short of a stereo, amp or powered speakers
  • A wall-mounted screen or a ceiling projector down to where you actually sit
  • Anything with a 3.5 mm plug – headphones, aux leads, powered speakers

Please read before buying

  • This extends a lead you already have. Because one end is a socket, it will not connect two devices on its own – for that you want a plug-to-plug aux cable, which we also list.
  • It is a 3-pole stereo extension. It will not pass microphone audio from a 4-pole TRRS headset.
  • It is not an amplifier – it carries the signal, it does not boost it.

Within that, it does one job properly: it puts five metres between you and the socket.
