Product Overview
An 8.0 metre instrument lead with a 6.35 mm (1/4 inch) mono TS plug on each end – the ordinary guitar-to-amp cable, in a length long enough to actually cross a room.
Length is the point of this one. The common sizes are 3 m and 6 m, and a 3 m lead runs out at exactly the moment you want to step back from the amp. Eight metres covers a stage or a studio floor in a single run, and every joint you avoid is one less place for noise and crackle to get in.
This is a mono (TS) lead, which is the right kind for an instrument. The plug has a tip and a sleeve with one insulating band between them. A stereo or balanced TRS plug has two bands and is a different thing. For a guitar, bass or a standard amp input, mono TS is what the socket expects.
Both ends are plugs, so this is not an extension. If you need to make an existing lead longer, you want a 6.35 mm male-to-female extension – a different product, which we also stock in 8 m.
Check your socket takes a 1/4 inch jack before ordering. A 6.35 mm plug is the large one, roughly the thickness of a pencil. If your gear takes the small 3.5 mm plug used by phones and headphones, this will not fit it.
