Product Overview
This is the everyday USB-C charger for a Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite or Switch OLED: a small black wall plug with a 1.5 m lead moulded straight into it, so there is no separate cable to lose and nothing to plug together. It delivers 5V at 2.4A, which is 12W, and it runs from ordinary Australian mains through a moulded two-pin AU/NZ plug — no travel adaptor, no dongle.
Where it earns its keep is as the second charger — the one that lives by the bed, in a bag, in the office drawer or in the glovebox — so the console can be topped up wherever it gets put down. Left on overnight, or on charge while the console sits idle or switched off, it will bring a flat Switch back to full. It is a standard charge, sometimes called a slow charge: steady, unhurried, and exactly what a console does when you are not using it.
The USB-C output is not fussy about what is on the end of it. At 5V 2.4A it will also run a phone, a Pro Controller, a Joy-Con charging grip, a set of earbuds or anything else that takes a standard USB-C feed, which is part of why it is a useful thing to have spare.
What this charger will not do
- Does NOT power the Switch dock and does NOT output video to a TV
- Does NOT fast-charge - a 39W USB-PD adapter is required for that
- May not keep up with the battery during demanding games at full brightness; it is a sleep/idle charger
